Wombats City Hostel is very conveniently located in the Bohemian 6th district. It is at a walking distance from the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út station. Historical places such as the famed Andrássy Avenue(World Heritage site), St Stephen’s Basilica and the Grand Synagogue are situated close by. The recently renovated hostel also doubles up as a happening spot in the city’s nightlife. Several restaurants, shops, pubs, supermarkets, and even a Starbucks is in the vicinity. The hostel opened in 2012 and has 112 rooms. It is an ideal location for young travelers and overseas students.

The hostel itself has a very colorful and vibrant feel. The main lounge is adorned with a multi-colored glass roof with a pool table. The rooms are comfortable and are accompanied by spacious bathrooms which are also very convenient. Rooms are well lit and cleaned regularly. The uniqueness of this hostel’s look is the modern decor and internal designing that has been done. The hostel has 4 to 10-bed dorms available and also has single, double and 4-bed private rooms. The hostel used to be a 4-star hotel earlier but was then converted to a hostel.

Be prepared to be pampered with free internet access, blankets, towels, travel guides and books and even free eatables in the common kitchen. The staff is very helpful. The drinks here are cheap and the food is delicious. The hostel is guarded 24X7 by a professional security agent along with CCTV surveillance.

With a 24X7 reception, you wouldn’t have to worry about coming late to the hostel or not being to able to contact the hostel staff at odd hours.
